Driving across Chott el Jerid Salt Flats on the main road that runs from the north to south, it’s impossible not make a stop to admire the rainbow-colored salt deposits and small lakes created even in the driest summer days. For the more adventurous motorcycle riders, the chott can be crossed riding on the salt deposits left on the bottom of the Lake. A good clean up of the motorcycle and chain is a must after undergoing such an adventure.
